Poster designer

Task : design a poster that advertises an exhibition of the work of your chosen designer. The poster should intrinsically linked to the work that will be seen at the exhibition and the designer's philosophies.

I got Campana brothers. thank God i love them haha otherwise it will be harder for me to make the poster. Umm this is my poster :

Materials :
-A3 stiff cardboard (of course! I dont want mine to be thrown out of the window lol)
-balsa wood
-aluminium wire
-black paint

Basically the inspiration came from two Campanas' famous chair :
Corallo Chair

Favela Chair
And also from these picture i got :

See the scratch-like title? and the woody background as well

Campanas studio -beautiful

Feedback feedback and feedback, again. hehe

Campana Brothers

Left : Humberto Campana , Right : Fernando Campana
Profile :
The Campanas teamed up to develop furniture made by found materials – such as aluminium wire, cardboard, rope, fabric, wood scraps, tissue paper, string or furry toys.

Central to their practice is the importance of materials. The challenge, as the Campanas see it, is to transform something poor into something decadent and opulent. They always say that first comes the material, then the form and finally they elaborate the function of the product by studying its ergonomics, limitations and capabilities. In other words, the material dictates the form and the function in their work -how cool is that?!

For them, design is to bring emotion, fun, and joy to people, not only functional form. They also don’t want to put a standardization on their products. They want to create the concept that each product is different to the other. This humanizes the design, they want to have a human touch. Because of that, their products are semi-industrialized, they need the human hand to build them.

These are some of their prominent works :

Anemon Chair
Cartoon Chair
Corallo Chair
Favela Chair - awesome, isn't it?
Sushi Chair
Vermelha Chair

I love love love love love loveee them! Uh I can't even tell how much i love them <3
If you haven't seen all their works above, i'm pretty sure you may have seen this one :

Yap, it's Campana Brothers'!

First assignment - Poster mash up

Task : Choose an image pre-1970s image and add elements of modern material culture to create a narrative about what may be happening if the scene was shifted to modern times.
After sooo much deliberation, i finally decided to add helicopter as the modern material culture to my poster.
The idea behind it : Before helicopters and other air transportation were found, people use ships to travel overseas. Because of that technological limitation, it is obvious that the journey will take a very long time. Well..i thought people can save a lot of time by using heli. Heli can be very efficient -if there were only a few people traveling, because it requires only a small landing area . And of course, faster than ships!

First trial :
Original Painting -'Les Pyramides de l'Egypte, troicieme miracle du Monde' (1750) by Probst,G.B.
Yeah i kno the helis are waaay to small..thats why i made a new one :

This is the one that i submitted. I think it's better than the first one eventho still, it's not perfect either. *sigh* I crossed my fingers and hope i'll get a good marks :D

Here is the original painting :

'Seaport with the Embarkation of Saint Ursula' (1641) by Claude Lorrain
Thats it peeps, short history of my poster. I'd appreciate some honest feedback :)
